Little Milestones

Today we had three little milestones to celebrate.

1. I took Alena out grocery shopping all by myself.  She was very cooperative.  In fact, she slept most of the trip.  It was really only across the street and back, but the act of getting out of the house and making the trip was significant to me.

3.  I was able to wear my bigger pair of pre-pregnancy jeans.  There was a point when I didn’t think this day would ever come.  It actually came sooner than I expected.  Last week, I started wearing my pre-pregnancy tops.  Bye-bye maternity clothes!  And thank you, breastfeeding.  Boy does it feel good to be (more or less) back to regular size.

In these times when most days blur into the next, little victories like these make a big difference.  They remind me of the good in life and that sunshine always exists above the clouds.  Part of what we want to be intentional about in our family is celebrating – and so we celebrate today.  For growth, for development and for baby steps closer our new normal.  Cheers!
