- When a Friend Passes away [A tribute to Kevin Huang]My friend Kevin Huang passed away yesterday from a heart attack, 3 weeks before his 32nd birthday. He had just celebrated his 1 year anniversary with his wife a few months ago. When I found out I was shocked. Read More
- Allie’s First Duet with Daddy
Here’s a short video of 8-month old Allie playing the egg shaker while I play the guitar. It’s her first attempt at playing the egg shaker. At times in the song she gets hungry and tries to eat the shaker (no Allie, it’s not a real egg). Right when verse 2 starts, she even switches from her left hand to her right hand. And at the beginning of the 2nd chorus, she sings along for a note.

Day 1
“Where you will go I will go. Where you lodge, I lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God, my God”. I clasped my new husband Varun’s hands tightly, not knowing where our journey together would lead, but certain I wanted to go with him. As we jetted off to our honeymoon, we brought two suitcases filled with all we would need for wedded bliss: sunscreen, lingerie, a few books, love, and anticipation for the future. - What 75 years of Marriage looks like [Video]
Meet Ray and Irma Ziff, who have been married for 75 years. What is their secret to staying married for so long? “Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight it out.”
Watch this great interview that Ray and Irma did with Yakov Smirnoff (they also did a similar interview with Jay Leno). It gives me great hope and inspiration to see a couple married for so long and still in love with each other.

- What my Baby is Teaching me about Prayer
A while ago, a friend suggested to me that I might want to write about what I’ve been learning about prayer through my experience of being a parent. Since prayer and the deepening of my relationship with God are matters that are close to my heart, and parenthood is the bulk of my daily life these days, it made sense to me to give it some thought.
- Taking a Sabbatical to Focus your Career and Calling
[This is a preview of a guest post I wrote for Paul Sohn’s blog, Salt + Light. Paul writes to equip readers with edifying, stimulating, biblical, and robust ideas and perspectives on people, change, leadership, and the Christian life on his blog.]
If you’re a young professional, taking a Sabbatical is a crucial part of growing your career and focusing your calling in life. What is a Sabbatical? It is an extended rest from work, or a hiatus, in order to achieve something.
- Happy Nappy Diaper Service, Review After 7 Months
It’s been 7 months since we started using Happy Nappy Cloth Diaper Service and I thought it would be a good time to write another review. I did an initial review of the pre-birth starter package, and another review two months in. But I’ve had some people ask me more recently if we’re still happy with their service. In summary, we are. [Update: As of Feb 2013, in the Vancouver Lower Mainland, this diaper service company is now called Happy Baby Cheeks. There is no more Happy Nappy in Vancouver. Most of the below still applies but there have been some changes. Read their review here.]
- Three Words I Deleted from my Vocabulary
In my Olive-dictionary, there are three words I no longer want to use. I’m trying to delete them from my vocabulary. I want to x them out. They’ve proven to be toxic so I am doing my best to erase them from my thinking.
