Launching my Art Career (and my Kickstarter Campaign)

At the beginning of 2020, I (Olive) was looking at the year to come, and thinking about what I wanted to invest in.

I was really challenged to take the artist part of me seriously, to not just treat it as a hobby, but to pursue it as a career. I realized that if my life were to end and I looked back at my life, I would really regret not living into that integral part of who I am.

I also decided that to focus on skies and clouds. Part of the reason behind it was that I looked at my past work and saw that I really enjoyed the process of painting skies and the results of painting skies. So why not focus a whole year on that?

I like skies because every time I look up, something is different. I could sit and just watch the sky for hours, because it’s constantly changing. As an artist that’s really fun, because there is an endless stream of inspiration.

The Kickstarter Campaign for my 2021 Art + Scripture Calendar

Now that we’re towards the end of the year, I have quite a collection of sky paintings. And so we decided to try and put them together in a calendar and making it them available to our family and friends.

The pieces in this calendar are all pieces I painted this year. I have also paired them with a scripture verse from the Bible that I feel like relates to both the piece and the month of the year.

My hope is that through the images and Scriptures, it would be a source of encouragement for you, the viewers, throughout the year.

Here’s a special part about this calendar. If you really really like a certain piece, you can cut out the page and trim it to the right size and it would fit any 8 x 10 frame.

The calendars are available to be purchased through Kickstarter until October 24th and we hope to have them in your hands by the beginning of December.

Thank you to everyone who has cheered me on this year, whether in person or on social media. Thank you so much for supporting this fledgling art career of mine. I really hope this calendar can bless you and your friends and family in this coming year. We don’t know what 2021 holds, but we know who holds us through it all.
